On February 17, hundreds of unique pieces of art from Minnesota to Australia covered social media following MN350’s call to action: an Art Storm to #StopLine3. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and even TikTok were blanketed with artistic posts calling on President Biden to revoke the federal permits and stop the Line 3 tar sands pipeline. Groups and individuals created banners, graphics, paintings, poetry, sculpture, dance, and song, and thousands of people shared and commented on them. Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative made a surprise appearance with a powerful Line 3 art care package available to the public for download.

Although this action was mostly virtual, the heartwarming enthusiasm expressed by creators and onlookers alike was palpable, especially in response to art made by children. These pieces of art serve as a creative and tangible reminder of our shared determination to stop Line 3. We must continue to pressure President Biden to halt construction however we can. People are still posting art, and we hope that their work will inspire you to post your own! See our action toolkit for more guidance, and check out our favorite posts below. For more ways to get involved to stop Line 3, sign up for our Pledge of Resistance and sign the petition to ask President Biden to revoke the permits.
