Customers are demanding change from their financial institutions, and big banks aren’t listening. So it’s time to stop giving them our business. Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, and Wells Fargo continue to finance the fossil fuel industry that is destroying our climate and our livable planet.

Stop the Money Pipeline and Third Act have partnered to put more pressure on these financial institutions with a day of action on March 21, 2023.

They’re asking people to tell the big banks that they “won’t bank with a financial institution that is destroying the planet.” As part of that action, if you’re a customer with Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, or Wells Fargo, they’re asking you to move your money on March 21, 2023 and join an on-the-ground action. Actions could include:

I’ve already canceled three of my four Chase credit cards. The final card is my favorite rewards card that I’ve used to fund family vacations, purchase Christmas gifts, and make memories as a family, but no credit card is worth the destruction of our planet. I’m looking forward to telling Chase I won’t bank with them anymore on March 21, and I hope you’ll join me.

We’ve written about Stop the Money Pipeline before and that article includes links to resources for changing your bank.
