We last wrote about our recommendations to read, watch, and listen to back during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it felt like our original list could use a refresh. So once again, we asked our MN350 volunteers and staff for their recommendations. We hope you come away inspired and ready to take action for climate change with us in 2024.

Policy Recommendations

Noelle Cirisan with our Policy Action Team recommends following The Weeds from Vox for updates on federal-level legislation and Minnesota Today from MPR to stay apprised of state-level legislation.

Food Systems

Mia Farinas from our Food Systems Team recommends MN350’s own Nourish podcast as well as Island Earth and this four-part series about climate change and food systems.

Organizing

Pipeline Resistance Team Organizer Andy Pearson recommends learning more about organizing practice to make a difference on climate change and suggests Organizing for Social Change, 4th Edition and Thinking in Systems by Donella H. Meadows.

Clean Transportation

Sonita van der Leeuw with our Clean Transportation Team recommends The Volts newsletter for updates on policy and the energy transition.

Other recommendations include:

Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer recommended by Jessie Roeming, Communications Manager.

The Intersectional Environmentalist by Leah Thomas recommended by Sarah Riedl, former Communications Manager

Sisters Rising movie recommended by Krystil Rose, Office Administrator, focused on the fight for missing and murdered Indigenous women.
