MN350 is building a climate movement by inspiring Minnesotans to take collective action grounded in urgency, justice, and possibility. MN350 plays a role in the global movement for climate justice by engaging people in strategic campaigns to keep fossil fuels in the ground and move Minnesota to a just transition to renewable energy.
The MN350 Green New Deal team is working to pass a People’s Climate & Equity Plan in Minneapolis, in coalition with racial, economic and energy justice organizations. Interns on the campaign will talk with Minneapolis residents about the how communities can benefit from clean energy and efficiency, access to green jobs, and how the plan can improve racial equity and public health. In the fall of 2022 we will be advocating to the Minneapolis city council to designate the funding necessary to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce the racial wealth gap, and ensure every resident lives in a healthy, climate-safe neighborhood. Interns in the program will have the opportunity to participate in organizing, outreach, event planning, data management, public speaking and communications, depending on experience.
We work with people from diverse backgrounds. Interns would benefit from having experience working in groups, and managing projects, strong interpersonal and writing and communication skills. Bi-lingual in Spanish and/or Somali is a plus but not required.
This internship is unpaid. Students can arrange to receive academic credit for our internships if allowed by their institution. To apply, please send your resume and cover letter to Ulla at ulla@mn350.org.
