Across Minneapolis, tree cover isn’t just uneven, it’s unjust. Neighborhoods in the city’s designated Green Zones, primarily in North and South Minneapolis, have been historically underfunded and overexposed to pollution and extreme heat. The fight we’ve been sounding the alarm about has reached a critical moment.
On Wednesday, September 16, the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to take up H.R. 8330, legislation that would give fossil fuel companies broad legal protections from climate accountability efforts. The rapid response toolkit describes the bill as potentially affecting climate lawsuits, state climate superfund laws and other state and local climate policies.
Members of the Judiciary Committee need to hear from people across the country now.
